Canon Cup

After having a 4 week break from golf relaxing and going back to Denmark to spend time with my family, I felt yet again ready and excited about playing golf again.
I was picked out to play for the Canon Cup East Team which obviously is a great honor and something I was looking very much forward to. The Canon Cup is tournament which is divided into two teams the East and the West it is made up of the best 10 girls and guys East and West of the Mississippi river. Players such as Tiger Woods, Stewart Cink, Anthony Kim, Morgan Pressel, Paula Creamer, Hunter Mahan, Charles Howell III, and this year I was chosen to play for the East Canon Cup team 2009.
The 2009 Canon Cup was held on Forest Highlands Golf Club in Arizona Flagstaff, which is and unbelievable golf course in amazing shape and beautiful surroundings.
The Cup started Monday with Fourballs in the morning and then mixed alternate shots in the afternoon, I played in the morning and unfortunately lost on the 18th hole in the afternoon I sat over and caddied for one of my teammates. My team (east) had a rough day and were behind 11.1/2 - 3.1/2 so we all were kind of down but set a goal for the next day to have fun and kick some butt.
The second day we made a major comeback me winning both my matches in the morning and the afternoon, only being behind 3 points so the standings where then 16.1/2 - 13.1/2 and then we were back in the Cup. The Third day we did great again starting off strong winning 3 out of the first 4 matches, unfortunately I lost my match on 18th hole after making a great respond to being 2 down through 8 holes.
Every single player on the team fought hard and won matches, the captains did a great job and I was very proud to be part of this years Canon Cup. Unfortunately the East team came up just short with 1 point and that made the final result clear that the West won 25.1/2 - 24.1/2.
This years 2009 Canon Cup was awesome and by far the best experience I have ever had with AJGA and hopefully I will play again next year.
